Atlético de Madrid's home tie against Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey will not be any old derby. The battle to put an end to violence in football stadiums continues and, consequently, security measures are being stepped up in and around the Vicente Calderón.
Around 750 officers were present for the first match at the Calderón without the now-banned Frente Atlético, which came against Villarreal on the weekend. That figure will rise to 800 for the clash against Real Madrid and will be composed of police officers, private security guards and members of the emergency services.
Both 'Los Rojiblancos' and the police force will be particularly vigilant when it comes to any racist or ultra-related activity, especially given that Frente Atlético members were seen in the stands during Fernando Torres' unveiling at the stadium on Sunday.
