Group Backs APC For Governorship, State Of Assembly Polls

A group, the Forum for Good Governance and Probity, has declared its support for the All Progressives Congress in the upcoming governorship and states House of Assembly elections. The FGGP said it came to the conclusion to back the APC and its candidates following the impressive performance of its elected officials in the present dispensation. in a statement signed by Adeola Jegede, its Publicity Secretary, the FGGP said: “Further to the successful outcome of the free, fair and credible presidential and National Assembly elections conducted on March 28, 2015 by the Independent National Electoral Commission, the Forum for Good Governance and Probity at its periodical meeting deliberated on the number of issues, including the forthcoming gubernatorial and state Houses of Assembly elections. “The Forum, after taking a strategic look at the various parties and personalities involved in these electioneering processes, we hereby declare our total supports for the All Progressives Congress at all governmental levels for the following reasons: “APC as a party has precise, clear and well-spelt out manifesto (security issues, tackle corruption, palliative social schemes for the unemployed and infrastructural development in strategic sectors), upon which their performances at various levels would be appraised and judged by all “The performance of the APC governors at various states (Lagos, Edo, Osun, Rivers, Oyo, Ogun, Kano, Imo, and Kwara) in area of infrastructural development, qualitative education schemes, basic health care programmes as well as social welfare packages for the vulnerables including unemployed youths. “The need to consolidate on the change coming to the Federal level and the desire to ensure that government policies at all levels are coherently integrated and complement one-another. In that sense, the real dividends of democracy can be delivered inclusively to all Nigerians. “Similarly, the FGGP also continue to support the use of card readers for the April 11, 2015, Governorship and State of Assembly elections. Not only because that singular effort reduced election malpractices significantly, but there is need to improve on institutional innovations which can ensure efficient delivery of services to the populace. “As usual, we implore all Nigerians to come out and vote in an orderly and peaceful manner they exhibited on the March 28 elections. Nigerians have done it before, let us do it again.”
