Plateau PDP Refutes Claim By APC To Rig Saturday’s Polls

The Peoples Democratic Party Campaign Council in Plateau Statehas debunked the claim by the All Progressives Congress that it was planning to rig the April 11, 2015 gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections. This was made known in a statement by Edward Ringkwat, a member of the Media and Publicity Committee of the Plateau State PDP Campaign Council. The statement said the APC is used to creating imaginary scenario just to whip unnecessary sentiments to sway voters from voting the PDP candidate for the governorship election, Senator G.N.S. Pwajok, whose campaign is issue-driven unlike the APC, “which is sentiment driven”. Ringkwat urged the Plateau State electorates to disregard fliers the APC intends to circulate from Thursday on a fake Du declaration on the government of Governor Jonah David Jang and his family, the PDP and diverse social issues. “These are all lies and propaganda of the APC to win public sympathy,” the statement said. Meanwhile, a former member of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Isaac Gonu, has berated the PDP for lack of honesty and sincerity among the faithful in Plateau State. Gonu stated this during an interview with journalists in Jos on Wednesday. Gonu noted that after deep consultation with the people of his constituency, he has decided to decamp to the All Progressives Congress from the PDP to bring his wealth of experience to bear in his new party. According to him, a great number of people who were in the PDP are glamouring for change so he believes that APC will offer them the opportunity to embrace the wind of change.
