A day before state governorship election, Southern Kaduna People’s Union,(SOKAPU) National Youth Wing has endorsed All Progressives Congress, APC governorship candidate, Mallam Nasir El’Rufai for saturday’s election in the state.
The group urged its members and electorate from southern Kaduna to make sure they cast their votes to the opposition candidate.
The youth alleged that People’s Democratic Party under the incumbent governor has failed the youth of southern kaduna which is the reason for their change of support.
Addressing newsmen after an emergency meeting held in the state, Political Committee of SOKAPU Youth Wing Chairman , Joshua Gimba said urged southern kaduna people to come out en masse and support El’Rufai.
According to him, members of SOKAPU can not afford to elect leaders that can’t defend their interest.
” We the aggrieved youth southern Kaduna feels that the government has a hand in the systematic killings and attacks of youth , women and children of the area the two years since governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero took over mantle of leadership.
“Governor Yero has no regards for traditional rulers who are custodians of the culture and tradition of Southern Kaduna People .
“We urge our youth and all the voters to vote out PDP because if Yero is voted back into office he might continue to be a stooge of the Vice President, Namadi Sambo,” he said.
He however called on all electorate in the area and across the state to remain calm and law abiding before, during and after the elections.
