Forty bodyguards for Real Madrid’s team hotel in Rabat

Real Madrid will tonight stay at Sofitel Des Roses, a five-star hotel which is about 5km away from the medina and the Hassan Tower, which is the most representative minaret of the city. Rabat does not have the charm of Marrakech, nor the modernity of Casablanca, but it is the capital city of Morocco. The suites cost between 493 and 721 euros per night. It also has two special rooms: the Opera, which is 128m² and costs 1,269 euros per night, and the Royale, which costs 2,547 euros per night and is measured out at 192 m².

Rabat is a city that does not have as many hotel rooms (5000) as Marrakech (55,000) and the option to stay 30km away, as the Mexican side Cruz Azul have done, did not convince the security body.

Road journeys will also be complicated although the team will be escorted at all times by the military police. It is expected that at least 1,000 people will welcome Ancelotti’s side on Sunday.
