LA LIGA | REAL MADRID Cristiano has more goals than the Barça trio put together

The Portugal international’s 25 league goals mean he has scored one goal more than Barça's front three combined.

As each week passes Cristiano Ronaldo continues to steamroll his rivals in La Liga. Rubén was the latest goalkeeper to be on the wrong end of a hiding from the Portuguese striker, scooping the ball out of his own net on two occasions (four times in total). Kameni remains the only keeper to thwart Ronaldo’s prowling efforts this season.

Ronaldo didn’t want to go to the Club World Cup empty handed and bagged a brace in the closing stages of the game against Almería, leaving his tally at 25 goals in 15 league games. To put that into context, these figures mean he has over two thirds of the total number of goals scored by the whole Barça team (36) and one more than their fearsome front three. Messi, Neymar and Luis Suárez have 24 league goals between them (Messi 13 and Neymar 11).
Moreover, the Madrid marksman currently (before Sunday’s games) has more than double the total number of goals scored by eight sides in the Liga BBVA (Elche, Almería, Deportivo de la Coruña, Córdoba, Granada, Levante, Getafe and Athletic).
Looking back, Cristiano’s current total after 15 matches would have seen him as pichichi (top scorer) in 39 of the last 83 seasons, finding the net more times than the likes of Zarra, Di Stéfano, Puskas, Luis Aragonés, Gárate, Quini, Kempes, Hugo Sánchez, Butragueño, Raúl and Ronaldo – some of whom finished top scorers with 25 goals or less.
