Ronaldo vying to be Portugal's greatest of all time

If Cristiano Ronaldo takes home the 2015 Ballon d'Or, which will be awarded on 12th January, he could also pick up another prize two days later, when the best Portuguese player of all time is announced.
In order to mark the centenary of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), the first edition of the 'Quinas de Ouro' awards has been launched, which pits the late Eusébio da Silva Ferreira against Luís Figo and Cristiano Ronaldo.
With voting already closed, the main 'Quinas de Ouro' award will be given to one of the three Portuguese sporting icons from different eras on 14th January.
"Eusébio, Figo and Cristiano Ronaldo have always shown a magnificent spirit of leadership and a real desire to excel, and they are now part of history", said FPF president Fernando Gomes.
Eusébio, a Benfica and Portugal legend in the '60s and '70s, won the 1965 Ballon d'Or, the 1968 and 1973 Golden Boots for the top goalscorer in Europe, and captained the national side which won an unprecedented third World Cup in 1966, in which he also finished as the top scorer with a nine-goal haul.
Figo, famed for playing for both Barcelona and Real Madrid in the '90s and at the turn of the millennium, won the Ballon d'Or in 2000 and led Portugal to the European runners' up spot in 2004, as well as to fourth place in the 2006 World Cup.
