There is nothing new about Lionel Messi being at odds with his teammates or the gaffer. Luis Enrique is just the next in line after similar problems that have occurred with Ibrahimovic, Martino, Villa and even Guardiola.
Although Messi was not responsible for Zlatan Ibrahimovic leaving Barcelona, the Argentine and the problems which he had adapting to the position where Pep played him ended up causing a rocky relationship between the Swede and Guardiola.
Messi also had his own run-ins with the man now in charge of Bayern Munich. After drawing at Anoeta, Messi came down with a stomach bug which prevented him from training, and we have just seen a repeat of the exact same situation.
He also had his spats with Tata Martino when being substituted, something Luis Enrique can now relate to.
The people behind the scenes have also incurred his wrath. He was not happy about the sale of Cesc Fàbregas, Pinto's departure or Barcelona's failure to sign his buddy Sergio Agüero.
There is only room for one person ruling the roost at Barcelona, and Messi made sure Villa was clear on that, even rebuking him for not passing him the ball.
You also get the feeling Messi does as he pleases with Argentina. He did not take kindly to Banega being left out of the squad for the last World Cup, leading to serious unrest in the dressing room.
