Hristo Stoichkov hit out at Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu on Spanish radio.
"For me Bartomeu isn't a president, he's a pen-pusher. The only thing Bartomeu knows anything about is basketball: he doesn't get football", the former Barça player said on Onda Cero's Al Primer Toque show.
The Bulgarian legend suggested that the Camp Nou honchos are mishandling Lionel Messi and have previously been guilty of the same mistake with other stars from abroad: "They're failing to pamper Messi. Name one foreign player who didn't end up leaving Barça through the back door".
"Leo is going to lose another Ballon d'Or because of those chumps", he added.
Stoichkov did, however, deny that Luis Enrique is a lost cause: "He can remedy the Messi situation. The two need to sit down and try to see eye to eye".
